Louis Smit - DS.,H.Dip.Dent., M Dent (Orth.) Wits Specialist Orthodontist GDC Reg G.L. Smit 44396. After obtaining my general dental degree, I obtained a second degree some six years later focusing on psychology in dentistry. With my third degree I became a specialist in orthodontics and was placed on the specialist register first in South Africa and then in the UK. Whilst in South Africa and while running a specialist private practice I was a part time lecturer in the Orthodontic Department of the University of the Witwatersrand and in addition was part of the leading Cleft Palate team in the Johannesburg area. For a period of time I was Executive Secretary of the South African Society of Orthodontics and also part of the Societies continuing education programme. For the last 10 years I have practiced orthodontics at the Orthoworld Practice in Colchester, England. The practice is divided into two specific entities – one for NHS patients and the other for private patients.

Beverly Macgregor - Orthodontic Therapist Beverly has over 27 years experience and has a calm and gentle way with all her patients, we refer to her as the “oracle of orthodontics”.

Sandra Bradly - Registerd Manager     Sandra started her working life as an orthodontic nurse in Essex and been part of OrthoWorld since 2001 and joined the Colchester Practice in January 2010.

Sarah Buttling - Orthodontic Therapist     Sarah has recently been awarded a dipolma in orthodontic therapy at Cardiff University.

Sue Eccles – Receptionist  Sue joined the practice in 2006 and ensures the smooth running of the private appointment book.

Linda O’Neill - Receptionist/Administrator   Linda takes care of the practice orders, correspondence but also adapts to various roles.

Janice Newton - Receptionist  Janice is responsible for managing our busy NHS reception desk.

Laura McDonnell -– Dental Nurse - Qualification NEBDN Laura joined the practice in 2008 and is a registered Dental Care Professional with the General Dental Council.

Jo Kelly – Trainee Dental Nurse  Jo has recently taken a NVQ in dental nursing and joined the practice in October 2008.

Rachael Porbach  – Trainee Dental Nurse Joined the practice in April 2010 and is due to start her dental nursing course in May 2011.

Sophie Rivers  – Trainee Dental Nurse Our newest team member who joined us in Summer 2010 .
